Thereses Gate 1A

Adamstuen, Oslo 2021

This project is a total renovation of an apartment,

in a historic 1895 building.

We removed the wall between the former bedroom and living room to create an open layout, while repositioning the kitchen and bedroom to optimize space and function. The new design places the kitchen and living room facing a busy street, and the bedroom overlooking a calm backyard. A key intention was to preserve the building’s historical context by retaining the original stucco ceiling.

Due to the uneven and worn original flooring, all floors were removed and replaced with level, insulated flooring. Given the building's age, we also took comprehensive measures to insulate the structure, thereby minimizing noise between floors. The kitchen design was developed in collaboration with Strai Kitchen, a local producer in Stavanger, Norway.
